It was our last day so we decided to go out strong and try and catch Horseshoe Bend Canyon one more time, this time at sunrise. We thought that the twilight light of the morning would make a good shot so we planned to wake up before first light and head over there. All of the websites we checked said that sunrise was at 7:34am so we figured waking up at 6 and being out the door by 6:30 would be perfect. We had the alarms set and as I got up I looked out the window to my horror that it was already light outside! .....We missed sunrise by at least a full hour!!! Uggg, foiled again!!! Two rounds Page Arizona, zero us!
Frustrated we went out there anyway and made the best of it but we both felt like Page Arizona had really kicked our photographic butts! After the stress of Antelope Canyon the day before and now missing the right light at Horseshoe Bend Canyon, TWICE, we just shook our heads and just laughed it off. Thats just how it goes sometimes!
After having a great morning we loaded up the car and headed back to Las Vegas to drop Jon off at the airport! We enjoyed beautiful scenery along the way and really reflected on how great the trip turned out!
I got to say, I learned a lot on this trip! My Brother truly schooled me photography wise and his natural talent with landscape photography really impressed and pushed me! Photographing the same places provided a point of comparison that really helped me to see new ideas and strategies of what compositions worked and what didn't. When one of my compositions didn't work and Jon's did we could talk about it and strategies on how I could fixed it. I can't remember a time that I have grown so much artistically! It was truly a blessing!
Proverbs 27:17: As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another. This is for sure true!
I can't wait for our next adventure!
